This location is the headquarters for the fire department, which includes administrative offices and a tall tower used for training. At any given moment, one battalion chief and seven firefighters are stationed here. The battalion chief's command vehicle is reserved for situations where it is necessary to direct personnel on location.

Among the various trucks and engine, the Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) is used for collapses and heavy rescue. This vehicle carries special tools, including the jaws-of-life, the ability to fill air bottles and on-scene lighting.

Fire station No. 1 generally covers the area from I-880 east to the railroad tracks, from the north part of the city down to Calaveras Boulevard.

City of Milpitas Fire Department

Do you know what to do in the event of a major disaster such as the San Bruno pipeline explosion? The Office of Emergency Services oversees the city's disaster plan and coordinates relief and recovery plans with the state and FEMA. In addition, OES provides trainings for residents, from CPR to search and rescue. Milpitas has sirens in the northwest and southwest parts of the city. Residents who hear the siren should seek shelter and follow instructions from city media, such as radio station 1620 AM and TV station channel 15, or the City of Milpitas website.

Milpitas Fire Department Station 4

Do you work in the tech industry along McCarthy Boulevard? Say a sweet prayer for this station as you pass by on your way to work. City of Milpitas Fire Station No. 4 covers everything west of I-880 from Dixon Landing Road down to Montague Expressway. When incidents happen at work, these firefighters are the first responders. The hazmat unit is housed at this station. There's a truck equipped with hazmat suits, air bottles, testers and monitors. The firefighters deal with chemical spills, for example, when a car accident causes anti-freeze to escape from a punctured tank. Other important trucks are housed at this station. The command unit for the Office of Emergency Services is reserved for situations of mass casualties. In addition, the demonstration trailer for kids is kept in the back of the building.

Milpitas Fire Department Station 2

The firefighters at this station mostly respond to medical emergencies in homes and workplaces, east of Milpitas Blvd. and south of Jacklin Rd. They also covers hillside fires, working with firefighters from Cal-Fire, the City of San Jose, and volunteers from Spring Valley. Station No. 2 houses an engine called the "Brush Patrol" to climb over hard-to-reach areas with its 4x4 capability. American Medical Response (AMR), the paramedics that the county contracts with, has a unit housed here. The city's Lend-A-Tool Shed is housed in the back, but is not operated by the fire station.
