History
In 1939, a small group of telephone employees organized the West Coast Telco Credit Union. When West Coast Telephone Company was merged into GTE of the Northwest, West Coast Telco Credit Union merged with GenTelco Employees Credit Union of Spokane. The merged credit union became NorthWest Telco Credit Union in 1967. By 1988, it became obvious that NorthWest Telco had outgrown its location of more than 30 years on Broadway in Everett, Washington. Listed as 20th in size among credit unions in the Puget Sound Region, the credit union moved in January 1990, to a newly remodeled building at 2821 Hewitt in Everett. In 2001, NorthWest Telco changed its name to NW Plus CU due to an increase in their membership availability. Currently, over 90 businesses from Snohomish and Skagit County offer their employees membership in NW Plus CU as a benefit of employment. NW Plus CU proudly serves those residents who work, live or worship in Washington State.
