Kanto Corporation was established in Oregon in 1990 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Kanto Chemical, headquartered in Tokyo. Kanto established a United States presence at the insistence of its customers and its first several years in the United States were spent providing products and services directly from Kanto Chemical in Japan. To fill a market need, its customers demanded a local supply, and the company responded by building its Portland, Ore., manufacturing facility. The company offers a variety of products, including electronics, such as ppt chemicals, engineered systems and total chemical management solutions; biotechnology; lab reagents; and fine chemicals, including ultapur, catalysts for hydrogenization and catalysts for polymerization. Kanto Corporation is headquartered in Portland, Ore.
