Founded in 1990 as an artisanal bakery, Le Pain Quotidien is a now a restaurant chain with more than 100 locations in over 14 countries, including the United States, Canada, France, Mexico, Spain, Belgium and the United Kingdom. The chain's restaurants serve handmade breads that are made with organic stone-ground flour, salt and water and are baked in a hearth. Its restaurants features furniture and interiors made from reclaimed wood and recycled Gypsum. Le Pain Quotidien specializes in a range of vegetable dishes. The chain's restaurants also serve homemade granolas, parfaits, jams and chocolate spreads. Its restaurants offer a selection of beverages, salads, soups, desserts, bakery products, and side and specialty dishes to guests. Le Pain Quotidien's menu includes Belgian sugar waffle, roasted asparagus, smoked salmon and scallion, saut ed shrimp and chicken chorizo salad, and lentil stew with sausage and chicken breasts.
