Established in 1949, George Eastman House is a museum of photography and films. It comprises world-renowned photographs and motion pictures archive. It is also involved in film preservation and photograph conservation; and educating archivists and conservators from around the world. The museum organizes various musicales, and exhibitions, dealing with various issues and topics, such as celebrating the centennial of a bygone artist, and pictures of animals and camera technologies. George Eastman House offers lectures by artists and eminent personalities of the film industry. It also offers a variety of classes and workshops for professional and amateur photographers, and organizes special events for various festivals. The museum s theater, The Darden Theatre, screens various classic films, such as The Piano Teacher and Cache. George Eastman House is located in Rochester, N.Y.
