The Brewster Volunteer Fire Department, also known as BFD, offers fire protection and emergency medical services. Established in 1870, it conducts various fire safety campaigns and educational programs for residents of Brewster in New York. The department provides smoke alarms and fire escape plans. The Brewster Volunteer Fire Department also organizes a Fire Prevention Week. It has a range of tankers, trucks, engines, vans and ambulances. In addition, the department maintains a staff of more than 20 individuals. The Brewster Volunteer Fire Department has a partnership with the National Fire Protection Association.
