Solimar Colon, PA is a member of Summit Health's Internal Medicine team. Ms. Colon is trained to diagnose and treat adult patients for a variety of common and chronic medical conditions. She provides comprehensive, individualized care with a strong focus on illness and disease prevention.Growing up with a sick parent, Ms. Colon became a primary caregiver at an early age, which is what sparked her interest in the field of medicine. Experiencing illness progression as a young child opened her eyes to the importance of caregiving, health education, and patient advocacy. I believe that the more a patient truly understands about their health and chronic conditions, the better equipped they are to make choices that will lead to better health outcomes, she states. I also believe it is my duty as a health care provider to help break down any barriers to care, so my patients can create a provider-patient relationship that is founded on trust, she adds.When not in the office, Ms. Colon loves to travel and immerse herself in different cultures.
