The Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is a part of the state of Nevada and preserves and protects natural resources. It maintains environmental, protection, forestry, water resources, conservation, districts, state parks and land, and Nevada natural heritage and Wild Horse Program divisions. The department has responsibility for the State Environmental Commission, Board for Financing Water Projects, Advisory Board on Natural Resources and Columbia Basin Interstate Compact. The Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources employs more than 900 staff members. It serves citizens and visitors and provides staff support in Elko County, Nev., and maintains a location in Carson City, Nev.
