Established in 1945, Coweta-Fayette EMC is a locally owned and managed company that provides electricity distribution services for residential, commercial and industrial properties. It is a nonprofit cooperative and has more than 70,000 members. The cooperative operates over 5,000 miles of distribution lines throughout Coweta, Fayette and Fulton counties in Georgia. It supplies a variety of products from Relyco, including pagers and home theater and security monitoring systems. The cooperative additionally provides interior sirens, panic buttons, touch pads and smoke sensors. It offers levelized billing, senior citizen discount and online bill payment services. The cooperative is financed by loans from the National Rural Utilities Finance Corporation and Rural Electrification Administration. Coweta-Fayette EMC has a staff of nearly 170 employees and is headquartered in Palmetto, Ga.
