Augusta Essuman-Nelson, DO, earned her medical degree from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency at University Hospitals St. John Medical Center. She received her undergraduate degree in Physical Therapy from University of Dayton and Masters in Anatomy from Wright State University and will be board certified in Internal Medicine. Prior to joining Piedmont, Dr. Essuman-Nelson was a Chief Resident at St. John Medical Center and she specializes in primary care. Dr. Essuman-Nelson has a special interest in hypertension, hyperlipidemia, cardiovascular diseases, anemia and kidney disease. In her spare time, Dr. Essuman-Nelson enjoys spending time with her family. She enjoys traveling to different countries, playing tennis, reading and interior design. Dr. Essuman-Nelson is accepting new patients and welcomes most major insurance plans.
