HistoryBrian Hester started his martial arts training in 1981 at 16 years of age at a Shoalin Kempo Karate school in San Diego, CA. After training with this school for 4 years the desire to study more traditional arts weighed heavily on his mind. After attaining a Black Belt level with this school he found a Wing Chun Sifu in San Diego where he studied for the next 2 years. At this time Brian moved to New England where he started a family but continued to pursue his martial arts path. After searching the surrounding areas, pursuing Wing Chun was not possible. For the next several years Brian studied a variety of martial arts such as Philipino Modern Arnis, JKD, Uechi-Ryu Karate and Small Circle Jujitsu. After returning to the Orange County area in the late 1990's Brian continued training in Philipino Modern Arnis for a few years and then decided to train again with Wing Chun. Brian Hester is a direct student under Gary Lam currently and actively trains.SpecialtiesWe teach Wing Chun Kung-Fu under the lineage of Master Wong Shun Leung. Sifu Gary Lam has taken Wing Chun to a whole new level. Most schools do not have a clear curriculum let alone a curriculum at all. With our system you have a very direct and systematic curriculum. You will know where you are, where you are going and where you have been at all times.
