Shriners Hospital for Children
Founded in 1922, Shriners Hospitals for Children is a health care system that provides medical services for children up to the age of 18. The nonprofit system is comprised of more than 20 hospitals in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Its hospitals offer treatment for burns, spinal cord injuries and orthopedic conditions. The system s hospitals also specialize in rehabilitative and cleft lip and palate care. Its hospitals provide outpatient, radiology, and physical and occupational therapy services. In addition, Shriners Hospitals for Children offers orthotic and prosthetic devices. The system operates Burn Awareness, which is an educational campaign. Shriners Hospitals for Children is a part of Shriners International, which is a fraternity-based organization that is comprised of over 370,000 members.
