History
The Pasadena Chamber was formed in 1888 as the Board of Trade to promote a positive business climate in Pasadena. The Board of Trade was an early collaborator with the Valley Hunt Club in Pasadena's New Year events. From its inception, the Board of Trade was involved in all facets of Pasadena's civic, cultural and residential life. Into the 21st century, the Chamber of Commerce works to expand the economic foundation of Pasadena by helping companies expand, relocate or prosper. The Chamber has supported efforts to bring technology and bio-medical research companies to Pasadena.

That is accomplished in many ways and through varied and effective programming, events, activities and advocacy. The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce and Civic Association is a dynamic professional business support and advocacy organization. In the 21st century, the Chamber's primary purpose remains supporting the prosperity of our members and enhancing of the business climate and quality of life in Pasadena, California. The Chamber's goals, strategic plan and policies are established by a board of directors composed of 24 directors and four immediate past Chairs of the Board. With a sharp focus on providing value to members, the Business Development, Member Services, Workforce Development and Legislative and Government Affairs Committees facilitate communication with members, provide input to staff and ensure Chamber activities provide the support necessary to promote the prosp
