Founded in 1864, The Union Newspaper is among the oldest dailies in California. Six days a week, more than 17,000 copies of The Union are distributed. The majority of the readers of the newspaper live in western Nevada County. The paper and its online equivalent provide readers news and information on community events, sports, weather, health, entertainment, obituaries, daily features, in-depth stories, events, coupons/offers, and opinion features. Nearly 120 people are employed at The Union's office in the Glenbrook basin, making the newspaper one of the larger employers in the area. The Union is maintained in Grass Valley, Calif.
