Abraxas High School is one of two high schools in the City of Poway. It is considered a continuation high school for students who require specialized attention and are at risk of not receiving a high school diploma.
Abraxas is a year-round school where students take two courses per quarter (every 45 days). The school prides itself in smaller class sizes (18-20 students per class) and the ability to offer specialized services including vocational, Coyote Youth Student Services and policing grants.
Abraxas was recognized as a a Model Continuation School by the State of California in 1998.
